Summer is almost here in Virginia, and we are getting ready for our SUMMER PROGRAM. We will be offering three sessions this year, the first one beginning on June 1. Each session lasts for four weeks. You will spend 17 ½ hours a week at the institute studying English. There are many fun activities that you can enjoy for the rest of the day, like swimming or playing volleyball at Meade Park, one of the many beautiful parks in Charlottesville. You will have the chance to meet Americans of all ages and to practice your English with them while you are here. This is a great way to make new friends and to learn about American culture!
If you come for the second session that starts on June 29, you will be here for Independence Day on July 4. This is a very special day for all Americans as we celebrate our independence from Great Britain in 1776, and there are celebrations and fireworks everywhere! During this session, you will learn about American history and the freedom that we all enjoy in this great country.
The cost of the Summer Program is $1,800. This includes accommodation with a host family and two meals a day (breakfast and dinner). It also includes all of the social activities, sports and a day trip to Washington, D.C.
You need to have a tourist visa (B1 or B2) to come to the U.S. for our Summer Program. We will send you a letter of invitation that you can take to the American Embassy in your country when you apply for a visa. We can send this letter to you by DHL for a charge of $60 in most cases. It may take up to a month or more to get your visa, so it is a good idea to apply for it as soon as possible.
We look forward to seeing you soon in Virginia!
